Kick-off your shoes and relax at Coolum’s beautiful beaches. With endless options for activities, Coolum has a beach to suit you. Whether you want to swim, surf, snorkel, dog walk, look for animals or just go out for a stroll, Coolum has a beach for you!

Coolum Main Beach

Coolum main beach provides plenty of space, soft white sand, and great surf! It is the only Coolum beach with red and yellow flags and lifeguards. This family-friendly beach is perfect for swimming and walking.

Stumers Creek Off-Leash Dog Beach

Known as one of the best dog beaches in all of Queensland, this dog paradise is located at the northern end of Coolum’s main beach.

Stretching from the northern end of Coolum Caravan Park (entrance 67) to 1km north of Stumers Creek (entrance 72). Always remember to pick up after your dog and there is even a dog washing station located at the Stumers Creek car park.

First Bay

A beautiful cove that attracts couples, families and surfers. On a sunny day in winter, when the water's clear, you may catch a glimpse of some bottlenose dolphins as they tend to come in quite close in this bay.

Be mindful that this is an unpatrolled beach. The outstanding ocean views provide, an ideal location for wedding ceremonies and events.

Second Bay

A smaller more private cove with great surf and a small sandy beach will give you remote island vibes. With plenty of rockpools to explore and creatures to see there is a lot to take in. Watch out for turtles popping their heads up for a breath while feeding near the rocks. This is an unpatrolled beach.

To visit Second Bay either hike down the steps from the car park or walk from First Bay.

Third Bay

The most secluded of "The Bays", Third Bay is accessed by an 85-metre trail down through the Yaroomba-Coolum Foreshore Bushland Conservation Reserve. This is an unpatrolled beach so always be mindful when visiting.

The Third Bay Park has a picnic shelter and off-street car park which is located 100 metres north of Bay Terrace. Third Bay is also officially on the Sunshine Coast Council's list of official venues to have a wedding!
